The Northeast Energy Center (NEC) project has been developed in Charlton, Massachusetts to provide the New England region access to a reliable, local and cost effective supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
In order to meet the growing peak energy needs of the region, NEC will provide critical supply for distribution companies, generation facilities, home heating, industrial applications, educational and agricultural facilities. NEC is strategically positioned in Central Massachusetts along the Tennessee Gas Interstate Pipeline, High Voltage electric transmission corridor and along key interstate highway.
The project will serve as a catalyst of development in Charlton and surrounding communities, providing access to energy that can facilitate economic development, help displace oil use, and serve as a home heating option. Our mission is to meet and exceed all safety requirements as mandated by the Commonwealth and Federal regulations and to be an active and productive member of the surrounding communities.
